"peaking" every week is a difficult, if not impossible thing to do. So I've taken that task up this season. Unfortunately it has proved to be more i difficult than I thought. I've PR'd in 3 of 4 meets, but the higher you vault the harder it gets. I'll let everyone know what the final tally is at the end of outdoors if someone reminds me.

best of luck, and always aim for a PR

Peaking and PR's are two different things. Peaking at big meets is great, (NCAA's for example) but I think that you should have the mind set to PR at every meet. If you don't feel as though you can't PR at any given meet and are waiting to PR at a given time, you should re-evaluate exactly what it is that you are trying to do. If you gear your training for peak performance in specific months you are doing fine. Just make sure that you are PR ing up until those months.
train harder

you make a good point, but i still believe that if you think you will pr every meet you will be disappointed. i believe that there is always that potential, but i think you would be better off just worrying about running as fast as you can every time, jamming the pole in the box, and vaulting technically well. then the pr will come. and hopefully if you have trained properly and are in peak condidtion at the end of they year you will be jumping higher easier.

When you "peak", its being in you best physical and mental condition. Its not something that you can maintain over the course of a season. High school athletes would want to peak at their state championships. Aollege atheletes would want to peak at their conference and antional championships. Professional Athletes want to peak at their championship competition. Its just a way to gauge your training so you have the best chance to perform at your best physically and mentally.
