hye

They showed some Mohr, Mazuryk, a couple of Borges, one Lavillenie early jumps of Lobinger and Pavlov…

Not much coverage for the vault… seems they have watched too much USA coverage.. interviews of sprinters, (their Nigerian import ran 20.11 and second to Dix) all the distance races some field and a lot of High jump because they have a 21 year old jumping 2.30m..

I'm just glad I got to see any of it…

AND none of the vaulters they showed are running!!!

We are (in the vault) "jogging' our way into mediocrity.(is that the right spelling??)

I'm glad I didn't miss much. Hope to see at least 5.90 in Shanghai.

good morning,

conditions were good... weather wise.. i think.. the discus throwers said they had a "head wind" don't know if the runway was set up with a tail wind.. i assume it was...

i only saw the end of Lavillenie's jump.. he looked "confused" but i don't know what that was about...

a couple of the jumpers were on stiff pole with little bend and were having a hard time penetrating...

i'm sure it will "heat up" somewhere down the road...

any reports from Mark or Walker???

Hey everybody, im waiting to get on my flight back to the US and read this so I thought I would give a quick summary. The wind wasnt bad, not a straight tail but a cross-tail that would hit you about half way down the runway. The competition was at 6:15pm here so the temperature wasnt an issue at all. My poles never made it out of Chicago so I ended up jumping on the Germans poles, Im not trying to use this as an excuse, I still think I could of jumped a lot higher. As for Brad and Renaud, Brad told me he was using a new sticky spray on his hands and during the comp it wasnt working for him the way it had in practice, he ran through his first jump, got stood up on a weird one his 2nd and had a blow through on his third. Hes really close to just putting it all together and jumping really high. Told me he was going to do a few meets at the training center in May to get a few bars under him. Renaud was jumping from 8 lefts and apparently he just finished a training camp and was pretty worn out, hes going to meet with Mesnil and a few other French jumpers today and train with them in Monocco, so apparnetly hes preparing for the long season ahead rather than trying to kill it right now. Mohr looked great, i think he just ran out of poles at 5.91 otherwise i think he would of made it fairly easily. Borges is running from about 50m and his approach is very inconsistent, stuttering into the takeoff on some of his jumps, but he was able to put it together at make 60. Everyone else just looks like it was their first meet of the season, and i think we all just need to get some more reps under us to start putting it together. Thats all for now, bout to leave for the airport.

Sticky spray, lost poles and short runs. I think it was a good meeting for the Cuban. He was third in DL. Renaud will no doubt be better in Roma DL. It is also a better place to fly pole to.
