Re: critique my jump!
hey,
a few things i noticed.
not saying to work on all these things at once.
Your Approach,
Work on your run, higher knee drive while running.
build your run progressively as it seems a little like your settling your speed 2 lefts out.
also, major, do not swing your arms back and forth. that is a bad habit and should be a main concern.
If anything try to do more of a bounce, up and down to pump your arms if necessary. Then try to steady your arms as your progressively plant from about three lefts out.
To fix this,
Work on run mechanics. do A step and B step with a pole, preferebly a bigger pole. i use a fifteen when doing my drills. and i vault on a 14 14'6. do these drills with proper running form. try highknee/buttkicks too. there are others but those are good for starters.
your invert,
it seems to be your blocking out with your left arm when planting. try to focus on keeping your left elbow out. petrov model of vaulting.
I'd say to fix this try rope vaulting and straight pole drills with a mid grip. not high. maybe three feet or two for you since you are a twelve footer. get a fast trail leg and practice swinging past the pole.
anyway,
Hope this helps
Nick

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.
But can you tell me what straight pole drills are and what swinging past the pole means? Im a tad confused.
Thanks,
Jonathan
