By The Daily News Sports Staff The Daily News Online | 0 comments

HENRIETTA -- Warsaw freshman Karmen Auble keeps setting the bar higher with her athletic exploits.

On Saturday, Auble won the girls pole vault at the RIT Tiger Invitational at Rochester Institute of Technology with a meet record height of 11 feet, 7 inches.

The mark is a state record for ninth-graders, breaking the mark of 2007 Cornwall freshman Adrienne LaChance, who went 11-61/4. It is also a Warsaw and Livingston Conference record.

Auble now owns the top three pole vault performances in Section 5 this season, and is ranked No. 2 in New York State. Nationally, Auble is ranked No. 3 for the class of 2014.

Auble has now set a total 15 age group state records from seventh through ninth grade for indoor and outdoor pole vault.

ROCHESTER — So what if she was fighting a cold and sinus infection. So what if she had to borrow someone else’s pole.

So what if she’s only a freshman.

Another state-record was shattered at the Tiger Invitational last Saturday at RIT as Warsaw freshman Karmen Auble won the girls pole vault with a meet and state-record height of 11-7.

Auble’s height for ninth graders topped Adrienne LaChance (Cornwall) who owned the previous best at 11-6 1/4.

Auble’s winning height also broke the LCAA and Warsaw records.

After she cleared her opening height of 10-9, she then went over both 11-3 and 11-7. Her record-breaking jump came on her second attempt.

She missed on her three attempts at 12-0.

Karmen now owns the top three pole vault performances in Section 5 this season, and is ranked second in NYS and ranked third nationally amongst all freshmen.

On the all-time Section 5 list, Karmen is No. 3 behind Jen O’Neil of Fairport (12-6) and Robin Mroz of Byron-Bergen (12-0).
