Reno Elite - Whitt, Hollis, Scot 5.50, Hutson 4.40
I'll try to post some updates... there is no internet at the arena, so I'll be texting from my not-so-smart phone.

The most updates will probably be through UCS: http://twitter.com/PoleVaultSummit
And of course check out the hash tags for the Summit. I won't be using them because I am just text messaging, but other are: http://twitter.com/#search?q=%23pvsummit2011

Re: Reno Elite - Links to live updates
The format for this year's elite competition is a little different, this is what I have been told...
There are ~6 men and ~6 women in the elite fields. Then there are ~5 men and ~5 women in the Dark Horse fields.
While the elites are warming up on pits 1 and 2, the Dark Horse vaulters will begin their competition. They get two bars, both of which are below opening height for the elite pit. If they make the second bar, they advance to the elite competition and move over to pit 1 or 2.

Re: Reno Elite - Links to live updates
I don't know official start lists but I will post on Twitter...
I think for the men, the elites include: Mark Hollis, Jack Whitt, Nick Hysong, Brandon Estrada, Jordan Scott, and Jeff Coover. I think the Dark Horse men include: Paul Litchfield, Levi Keller, Nick Frawley... I'm blanking on the rest. I might have a few mixed up... but I don't think I mixed up the Nicks. Kind of a head scratcher, but whatever. Oh yeah Jake Pauli is jumping, not sure which group.
I'm not sure who is jumping for the women. A lot of people here are not jumping, including Brad Walker (healthy but plans to open at USATF), Chelsea Johnson (healthy but undecided if competing indoors), Darren Niedermeyer (injured). I am not sure if April Steiner-Bennett is jumping, she tweaked a nerve or something in her foot recently. Erica Bartolina is coming off an ankle sprain but plans to jump.

Re: Reno Elite - Links to live updates
Too tired to type up full results... top men were:
1. Jack Whitt 5.50
2. Mark Hollis 5.50
3. Jordan Scott 5.50
4. Nick Hysong 5.20 no misses
several others 5.20
Kylie Hutson won the women with 4.30 or so.
All three of the top men looked good and could have made another bar or two. Hollis had some booming heights.
I believe Jack Whitt is the youngest male to ever win the elite competition at the PV Summit.

Here's a video with all of the best jumps from the elite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwZHJGJUtg4
There is a shot of Levi @ 5:15, but I don't think too many people were filming the dark horse competition when he made a few bars.
