NFHS seriously considering helmets?

I heard that someone from the NFHS told the youth committee at the USATF meeting that that mandatory helmets were being seriously considered...

On this topic. . At winter track meet last night I saw a high jumper fall through the mat and hurt his head. You can get hurt doing anything,

You mean like between the two pit sections because there wasn't a top cover?

Heck, that happened at Prefontaine. There was a top pad but they didn't buckle it at all. Scott Hennig on a warm up jump landed right on the seam of two sections and fell straight through to the ground.
