Poles for Sacramento

Former US great vaulter, Tye Harvey (19'7" - 5.98?), has a series of vaulting poles, many ESSX and some Skypoles that he is going to make available to any vaulter who needs a pole during the Master Nationals in Sacromento, California next month. We can only hope it goes well and he is willing to do the same for Worlds next year. I have been told he is not charging a fee but I would certainly consider making a small donation to his club. Hi all --

I have been contacted about sending some of my poles out -- I probably will have in the neighborhood of 30 -- some small (daughter is also a HS girls coach) -- bunch in 13 and 13'6 some 14

Since I am planning on doing at least the Deca - I would have to bring some -- guess mre info will be coming

Will not make Sac this year - just started new job - selling house - moving the family

Hi Guys,
I am considering coming from Canada to pole vault, and I would be very interested in borrowing poles. Jeff, it sounds like you might have what I need. I am willing to pay a fee/ give a contribution. I normally jump on 12'6 110 for 4 stride, 13' 120, 13' 125, 13' 130 for 8 stride.

Any chance you know if you have poles in those ranges?

I too am hoping to borrow or rent some poles. I could work with poles in the range of 11'7-140, 12'-130 and 13'-125 or 13'-130. I tried to e-mail Tye at the above blog but my message bounced back.

I'd greatly appreciate any assistance or further information.

Does anyone know if you can take your poles to the stadium and leave them there so you don't have to transport them on the day of the competition? Or, who would I contact to find out? Thanks.

"I've flex tested every pole in the series myself and have arranged them by number in series so that each progressive pole is an easy switch. Each pole is labeled with a sharpie at the top of the pole indicating which number it is in the series. For example: The Essx 10'8"-88 lb pole is marked #1, the 11' 80lb pole is marked #2 because it is the next slightly stiffer pole in the series. Hopefully this helps the athlete unfamiliar with the series to make an easy transition from one pole to the next." - Tye

My understanding of the paperwork part is that there are two forms to sign - one releases Tye from liability if you get hurt and the other says that you are good for the money if a pole breaks. Rental fee will be $10/person (as I understand it not $10/person-pole). This will help Tye cover tape, gas and his time preparing the poles. It's definitely not a profit center for anyone. Also expect to put down a credit card number for if a pole breaks.

I have no idea who is in charge of the poles as Tye won't be there at all this weekend.

Many of those Essx poles in the middle of the series are just GREAT poles. Some were mine and some were Laura Rosenbergers series that I bought off her. One is a carbon that came from the same run/lot that produced poles that Jillian Swartz and Kellie Suttle jumped 15' on. Laura's series was very finely tuned for her.
