Pool Vault!

Unread postby LHSpolevault » Sat May 15, 2010 1:04 pm

Okay, so we just recently got a new above ground pool and the first thought to run through my head was, "How can I safely vault into the pool?" I'm trying to figure out a way to plant the pole... but also not risk the pole tip tearing the pool liner as it moves.

How could I temporarily "fasten" or connect the pole tip to a thick piece of rubber/foam so it'll have a soft base so it won't rip into the liner? Thanks!

How deep is your pool? Above ground pools are usually quite shallow. What are you trying to accomplish, besides just having fun?

You COULD put a plant box outside the pool, and vault into the pool with a big splash ... but WHY???

Do you mean planting the pole OUTSIDE the pool and then landing INSIDE the pool, or if you really mean planting it INSIDE the pool, then exactly what do you mean? Standing on the edge of the pool, then swinging into it?

My gut tells me that this is a bad idea. Above ground pools are not only shallow, they're also quite fragile.

It's 54" deep and I'd plant inside the pool. I've done this a few times before, as well as into a lake where it was a little less deep. Only thing it'll really accomplish is a nice splash and weird looks from neighbors lol
