So with in the last year or so I have read this book and consulting with the author about mental toughness and developing these mental skills to help improve performance, The book is called The Fearless Mind and you can get it from this website http://www.visualizeone.com I feel like these skills helped me a great deal in improving my bar attempts, less 3rd attempts less no heights, my consistency at high bars increased as well.
But I was mostly curious as to what skills and techniques you guys use out there to improve mental toughness, what are some of the things you have done to improve your mental skills?
I am really interested to hear what you have to say, no matter what level of a vaulter you are.

Re: Developing Mental Toughness
i realized that from my sophomore year to about the end of last year i was always worried as to what the height of my bar was.. even when i was just stick(stiff) vaulting.. over this past summer and this current year i havent asked about my heights and i dont seem to worry about them and get psyched out and i just go through all of the motions just as if it were practice.. i also will try to get a song stuck in my head and focus on just that and nothing else the whole way through the vault.. 2 best songs for that are baddest ruffest by backyard dog and turn me up by bennasi bros.. thank you tomas01 for those songs ha
