Could not have happened to a better guy. GREAT photos and videos! Maybe you will change your Avatar?
Now you have a new set of records besides indoors and outdoors - helmet vs. no helmet. You will need a 4.06 with a helmet for a new PR whether it be indoor or outdoor. I guess youycould get a 4.03m or 4.04m with helmet outdoors. Think of the possibilities! Congrats John!! Bubba

Done ... but maybe it's a bit too distracting.

LOVE it!! How fabulous is it that someone got a shot at the exact moment you were over the bar.

One of the best kept secrets thus far is M55 Kirk Bentz winning at Kamloops. Last year, just before he turned 55 he cleared 4.15m (13' 7 1/4"). A month later and he would have the American Record. I predict he WILL get it this year and probably raise it a few times or more over the next few years. He didn't get much attention in the M50 with Gary Hunter leading the pack but now he will prove to be a force. He hasn't even been back jumping very long. Bubba

Kirk definitely has what it takes to jump at the M55 American record. Like for all of us, it has to come together at the right time. No credit for jumping high if the bar isn't already set there.

That's a great quote ... and what I was trying to say in the "Tarasov vs. Bubka" thread (http://www.polevaultpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=19012) a minute ago!

I think I did comment in a "PS" at the bottom of one of the emails we had yesterday. I certainly wouldn't conceal something like that from you Alan. I think in Nampa at your camp, I told you of a 'secret' goal of jumping higher as a master than I did in high school in 1964. Well after the 4.05 jump, I only have 3cm more to go.
