Uniform Rules
I pole vault for a high school in south mississippi, and my coach says that mississippi track regulation says that we cannot wear tights (Speed suits, etc.) as the outer layer of our uniform bottoms. I looked and could not find anything stating that. Is this true?
He must increase, I must decrease...

Re: Uniform Rules
Each state can add additional rules to the NFHS rules, so it's certainly possible. Your school is also allowed to make up its own uniform rules, maybe they want their team to match.

Re: Uniform Rules
I coached in South MS for 3 seasons. I remember relay teams all had to match exactly. All my kids vaulted with tights under their school issued uniform. However my advise is to do what your coach says. Thats one less thing he has to worry over. There are coaches in MS that will try to get you DQed over any rule infraction. Good Luck this season.
