Getting back into things

Unread postby fong520 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 6:47 pm

Im trying to get back into vaulting and want to try out for my college. The only vids I have are a couple of years old so I don't know how helpful they will be to me now, however I went to jump yesterday and I felt like I was jumping the same way (old habits die hard). I'll try to get some new vids up when I jump again on Tuesday. I know one big problem is my knee drive is weak but I was wondering if anyone could help with the rest of my jump as well. I also think that maybe I'm going in a horizontal direction a lot more than I should be which may be the reason why I cant get my hips higher.??
best jump: 13'4,
in these videos: 7 steps pole: 14' 155 and 150, grip: an inch or 2 under band. im about 5'6 135-140lbs

I jumped on thurs for the first time in awhile from a 5 step using 14' 145 holding around 12'. I was just trying to get used to jumping again and so put the bar up a couple times but only cleared 11'.
Anyways any help and comments would be appreciated. Thanks
i run, therefore im buff.
