Every once and a while I notice one of my vaulters get glassy eyed when I say row, some times "down pressure" with the top hand makes sense to them. If that doesn't work we get out this little pole section that is connected to a bunge cord to add some resistance-It's actually kind of neat-when you hold the pole section over your head and bring the bungee to tension it feels pretty close to the way a pole feels in your hands at take off.
