Hy-tek fail... there is no excuse for the hy-tek operator at a meet of that size to not know how to break the ties within the program. I shot an email to someone at USATF to try and get the results with the places.

Was it bad conditions or why was the heights so low?

Leleux placed 1st
Kortney Ross 2nd
Mackenzi Landry 3rd
i think Sandi Morris was 4th
Shayla Simpson 5th
Katherine Zingheim 6th
i'm not sure about the rest- and the conditions weren't that bad, but it was pretty cold and windy (at least for those of us from california ) the runway seemed a little slow, alot of vaulters would come up short first attempt then blow through it second and stuff like that. we had to jump pretty early, and the officials turned the pit around (which was a good thing) but that meant that warmups got cut short. overall it seemed like there was just a sense of post-state lack of enthusiasm, despite it being a big meet. no one was jumping really well

Re: Morgann LeLeux of La. and Max Babits of Mi. Win Youth Titles
Morgan actually won in a jump off with Kortney
both girls were clean thru 12 1 until 12-8...both had plenty of height over 12-8 just came up short
on the 4th attempt kortney moved the standards up 10 cm and had a big jump but again came up short
and on her 4th Morgan had a pretty clearance for the win....both are off to italy

Our young guy, Max Cosculluela, won the Youth Boys at 9' 4" and he's jumped 11' twice in the last two weeks. His mom said it was about 50 degrees and threatening rain. Bubba

Eastern Michigan University is the worst place for vaulting outdoors. The weather conditions are always swirling winds. I think you will get 1 out of 20 meets there that the conditions will be just right or occasionally have a tail wind. No joke!!
