Need Help On Turn And Push-off
Hi, I'm a freshman in high school and i need help on my turn and push-off. My PR is 10' and I whenever I clear, it I scrape my hand on the bar. My coach seems to think I'm turning to late, so I'm getting off the pole to late. Is there any drills I could do to help with that? Thanks in advance.

Pole runs, walking plants, and high bar.
Working on the earlier parts of your vault will make your turn/push-off happen almost completely naturally. Don't waste your time practicing it.

Re: Need Help On Turn And Push-off
Keep in mind when you are jumping lower bars that there is not a whole lot of time from when you leave the ground until you reach the bar, so the turn and everything needs to be quick. This is not to say you won't learn anything by watching 19' footers, but the timing will be different.
When you are starting to extend over the bar, take the foot of your drive knee and cross it over your trail leg foot. This will pull your hips and redistribute weight on the pole helping the turn and covering of the pole. It may take a while to get, you may get stuck going over sideways on your hip before you get all the way over onto your chest.
hope that helps
