Please use your standard base pads  Your setup is a catastrophic injury waiting to happen

Safety first !!!

From my post to you on March 16 ...
Are those pads legal? I'm just surprised at how much wide open space there is around the standards.

Your reply ...
LHSVaulterJJR wrote:as for the pads... yea they're legal we just tend to not place the standard protectors where they should be :P .. not the brightest idea but we've never really had those problems.... plus the long jumpers steal them as hurdles to try and drill in the height they need for their jumps

Your COACH should be making sure you're properly protected when vaulting! And If he's not doing his job on this, then you need to step up and look after your own safety.

This isn't "mothering" ... it's common sense!

I've fallen on my back on the base of the standards before (back in the days before they were padded). Luckily, I just got some very bruised/torn back muscles that fully healed in a couple weeks (I was on painkillers for the first week after the accident). But I could have paralyzed myself ... and all I did was have a late plant that got out of control. That's why I'm so passionate about this!

Please send me your coach's email address by PM, and I'll send him a personal note about this. I'm concerned for your safety!
