pole speed is not the issue.
whatever "old man" vaulting is, I don't do it.
congratulations on breaking a pole, but if your criticism is useless and ignorant, considering you've never seen me vault, please keep it to yourself.

thanks again for the help Kirk, The runway at this meet wasn't as long as i needed, but i got 11'6" and 3rd place from a short approach on the 185.
I just need to work on my upward thrust once I'm upside down and then i think i can make some great progress this outdoor season.
I was alright with the thrust this summer, so i think a few drills will shake out the cobwebs and it will be fine.
Thanks again for being helpful!

I haven't seen any of your vids yet, but it's very rare that the "thrust" that you speak of (more commonly called "extending", or "the extension" is the one and only flaw to fix.

More likely, there's some technical issues earlier in your vault, maybe in your DOWNSWING but possibly even before that, that are causing this.

Once I view your vids, I'll be able to give your some more specific advice, but I'm predicting right now that it won't be about your UPSWING or EXTENSION. It will be something before those vault parts.

For starters, take a look at the advice I gave Eric, after I viewed his vids ... http://polevaultpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=17125&p=122961&hilit=frame+%231#p122961

I'm chillaxed, i just am not a fan of arrogance, especially when i need some help. i'm here for some assistance, not for someone to make assumptions and brag, and that annoyed me.

But Kirk,
It's certainly not my sole issue. You are correct ha ha but i have some film from yesterday's meet that i can work on uploading tomorrow when i get the chance.

For example, the video is on facebook, and at this point i can tell my trail leg is bending a bit after my takeoff, which is definitely reducing my momentum in the upswing. My plant and takeoff seemed decent, but the inversion was choppy, with some good and some bad.
My form definitely needs work though, and i'm trying to get something you can analyze.
hopefully i'll have it by tomorrow.

Actually, what I 'have beef' with is your plant! :D

Your left hand gets so far out in front of you that your knees begin to get an immense amount of excess strain, making take-off exponentially more difficult than it should be!

The left hand should stay close to the chest, never drifting forward until it is moving UP.

I'm not sure i understand what you mean..
So, since that jump was on with my step, do you think my mark is off and my takeoff should be more upright, therefore a little closer to the box?

more importantly, your left hand shouldnt be lowered during your plant. it may make sents to lower it to get the tip down, but you gotta trust that by getting your right arm high, the tip will go down. When you lower your left hand, it causes the plant to be more rushed, and makes you more likely to have a low plant.
