Re: NCAA DI Live Updates
They actually showed Colwick's third attempt (I assume it was) and he missed.

He only made 3 bars all season.

Senior All-American Bob Low was unable to claim his final All-America title in the pole vault due to health problems.
“Bob’s been sick and had a hard time getting in the right place,” said Robison. “I was sad that he didn’t get to earn the title he deserved, but we still have another day of competition, so hopefully tomorrow goes a little better.”
Low entered the competition in a three-way tie for fifth place nationally with a vault height of 5.45 meters.

Can you call it dropping if it's never up in the first place?

That commentary at the end pretty much sums it up.
Those weren't nearly as sound of jumps as his 5.60 clearance at Nebraska that was posted weeks ago and he still cleared easily.
"You have some interesting coaching theories that seem to have little potential."

Rice’s Colwick wins title

COLLEGE STATION — Rice junior Jason Colwick cleared three consecutive heights on his first attempt to become Rice’s first individual NCAA champion since 2002.
Colwick captured the men’s pole vault title after clearing 18 feet, 4½ inches during the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M University.
“I felt a little off considering how I did in conference a few weeks ago,” said Colwick, who entered the meet as the top-ranked vaulter. “I was able to shake it off and I had a couple of good practices coming into the meet, which made me very confident.”
