How old is your friend's son, and what county are you in, I might be able to help you find someone. If you don't mind telling me what school district that would be even better!
Of course it is always easier to get training in the summer, way more opportunities on long island when you can be outside. The camp I help out at and go to has brought in young beginners that knew someone already in the camp. (a little gymnast came in, one of the older vaulters knew her from their gym).
The only indoor facilities with a full set up i know of now is SWR, and I have only been there once, for a meet. And then there is St Anthony's, but that isn't open to anyone right now, and once it is no "outsiders" can come in.

I believe the kid is 5th or 6th grade. Not sure what county but I will find out. I'm not sure that will matter however, I believe dad will drive as far as needed to get his kid what he needs. Thanks for the help!

ok great! I am almost 100% sure I can at least get him into the summer camp that I go to. I will ask a few of the coaches I work with about any beginners stuff they do. If you want to you can give him my e-mail. just pm me for it!

If you have not found a coach yet, let me know. I am a vault coach on long island and can probably point you in the right direction.

Hey Caitlyn. What school are you at now? Think you went somewhere in CT or Mass?

I went to Hartford in CT. I'm the teams first real vaulter ha. practice situation isn't too great for indoor but it is supposed to get better next season.
