SUMMER MEETS

hey guys, i've been looking and looking and i can't find any youth-meets where there's pole vaulting.

I'm from NJ and i don't wish to conclude my season right now. i'll be attending some camps this summer but was also interested in some open-youth meets. i'm a 17-year-old, high school vaulter and was wondering if anyone had some specific meets that they know of for me and any other vaulter, looking for similar information.

I already checked the new jersey track and field calender and could find nothing with the pole vault. can you help me you?? thanks in advance. -Joe

I haven't put together a crazy-good list yet, but there are a few that I know of and will be at.

Sat. June 7th- NJ International meet at Holmdel HS
Sat. June 14th- NJ open/masters championship at Monmouth U

Richard Stockton will be having meets every Thursday in June as well, and I will hopefully get to go to at least one of those.
For those of you willing to travel, there are a bunch of meets in Rochester, NY throughout the summer, and there will hopefully be another Street Vault around Groton, NY.
Again, these are the meets that I know for sure will be going on, but there are a lot of other ones on the USATF and Direct Athletics calendars that I haven't mentioned.

WOW! thanks man, this is great. i actually just competed at the holmdel meet, yesterday and PR'd 3 times, finally achieving 13'1. at least now i have more opportunities to vault this summer and raise the PR

EDIT: I talked to the Stockton coach today and he clarified that their meets will be held every Thursday in July, not in June as I have on the list above.

Syracuse Chargers usually have 3 meets during the summer, although their schedule isn't on the website yet. Usually in July.

Cooleo - I'm planning to be in the Groton area around mid-August and would like to find out more about the street vault there.

it started to pour but only 4 people were left at the time.

um, brian mondschein came in at 14' and went over from 4 lefts
there was this master (some former 18-footer) who cleared it on his first attemt
Big Craig (you met him at holmdel, andrew) came in at 14 too, but missed his first and second attempts without a third
and then i jumped 13'6 and only got one attempt at 14' before it started to pour

that's the best i can say really haha
