after seeing spencer at jr. nationals i think that a 5.60 jump could easily be in his range for next season but im going to go with jordan scott
pain is only temporary victory is forever

Id say spencer, with a ridiculously easy 5.35 clearance at his last meet of the season. Easily a foot over. Give him a few months to adjust and i put him at a consistent 5.40+. But like Morry, im a little biased too :).

GWU Vaulter wrote:Considering he got there mid November, it will not give the best improvement points because he didnt take the athlete through fall training...He was put in the mix of things and had to work with what they got during the fall.

So really he only had a couple of weeks to work with them 1st semster, which mean he's only been there for 1 semester(spring) so its very hard to make the necessary changes just in a semester usually takes two semesters to get use to the changes and coaching style.
As far as the girls:

Salie G. Previous PR: 12 New PR 13 2''
Liza Todd Previous PR: 12 New PR 12 10''

Again without the 1st semester training i dont think its very accurate to look at the height...But the changes the athletes have made will propel them to the level they need to be at to compete on the national stage.

This coming up yr will be a good measurement i think!!!

Not to nit pick or diminish what Lawrence has done but Sallie had jumped 12'8". You are correct though about the improvements not showing in height. It was a pretty drastic change for most of the jumpers.

What stat? She jumped 12'1" in high school and 12'8.25" as a freshman and 13'1.5" as a sophomore. And I am sure she will jump much higher. Especially since Lawrence is her coach. I realize you don't care but you shouldn't just make up the stats and post them as fact. I do believe we agree that Lawrence is a good thing for SC pole vaulting.

Salie G. jumped 12-8 indoor 2007, and 12-1 outdoor 2007
2008 Indoor 12-5, outdoor 13-1

I think what Gwu is trying to compare outdoor season not so much indoor... i believe he had some impact on her if she had PR, obviously she made some needed changes, either way you both are right and it will be very interresting in the future to see how the program develops!

Take it easy with the Caps and !!!!. My apologies I did not know you only meant outdoor marks. But how could I?

That said I am pretty sure we are in total agreement of the situation in SC.

Well i figured we were talking about her outdoor PR which was 4m and compared that to her 2007 outdoor PR not indoors considering its an entire different season!!! I just took offense when u said i made up stats...but its all good glad we can come to an understanding!
