Yea... drops his center of gravity. He must be coached to make up for it with swing energy with two legs as opposed to one. Notice how fast he swings both legs. If he didnt swing so fast he would benefit more from a drive knee than double legged swing, in my opinion. It just goes to show you that you can jump 6.00m a lot of different ways. Each brings new things to the table.

Yes, but it's up again, when he passes the chord of the pole (not as high as some...).

He looks so smooth (and his 601 jump in Poland was very nice) and coordinated on the top end. Looks to be in total control.

I don't think he swings that fast. The leg drop keeps his centre of mass low, helping him penetrate, but making the swing slower. He has to tuck to get up and never really covers the pole before it recoils. Very Markov-esque to my eyes.

Still, kudos to him for a great run, plant and (albeit unfinished) takeoff, and a great overall vault, especially from 14 steps. Does anyone know who his coach is? Volkov perhaps?

Yes you are right i should have said a fast swing for a double legged swinger. The whole point is to add more to the pole with more weight, but it wont help much if you cant swing as fast as with 1. He does it nicely.

I agree. It is a very smooth jump. I really didnt notice the knee drop until I paused the video at that point when I noticed something was off. It comes back up so quickly.

I am also impressed that this was only from 7. What was he running from on his 601?
