Unread postby spike gibeault » Sat May 17, 2008 10:24 am

This is me jumping 14'7" for a school record, but my form fell apart on this jump, so im open to any help or constructive criticizing. Rip it apart...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkPSkTi4elo

I weigh 110 pounds
I'm 5'6"
The pole is a 14'1" UCS spirit 145lb
I am gripping at 13'5"
Standards are at 15.5 inches

p.s. if you watch the whole thing, i went a little crazy at the end :)

it wasnt as straight as usual, usually i break it down after my back is parallel to the ground, so i guess i could work on that

It's better than mine. Just work on the trail leg, and turn into the pole, you cast out a little?

EDIT: After watching it again, your turn is good. just work on the trail leg

In addition to these things, you should also begin with your pole more vertical. Your current carry is really slowing you down.

You are on the right track. You could use a better finished take off to get your trail leg farther behind you, and keep your hips moving up throughout your entire jump.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph
