Unread postby ep_wild » Mon May 12, 2008 11:20 pm

i'm on a 13' 160 weighing 135ish running from a 6 left and i'm blowing through holding 12'5" 12'6", the only pole we have after that is a 14' 150 and i'm having trouble getting into the pit, i've tried moving back a left but it doesn't help. what should i do?

I would try holding at 13' on the 14' 50 because that would essentially make it a 13' 60 and then you should get in perfectly fine. From there slowly but surely move your hand grip up till you can safely roll the 14' grip to vertical.
What is nice about this sport is that I am responsible for most everything.

Chain yourself to something where your athletic director can see you and insist that you won't leave until they agree to buy you a pole. Seriously...

That won't be any bigger than the pole you have now! Check out this chart: http://www.skyjumpers.com/articles/pvpr ... table.html

thanks for the advice, i went to 12'9" instead of 13' because i thought it was too big of a leap from 12'3" and i was getting 12' fine and just barely making 12'6" in practice...i thanks for the chart too, my coach tried showing it to me in the begining of the year and i was too confused but now i get it
