Wristband Rule

Unread postby mikeyziggy » Mon May 12, 2008 1:29 pm

Alright so recently I was at a meet and the official told me that I can't where my wristband in competition. I was wondering if anyone else had heard this because this is the first time that ive ever been told I can't wear my wristband

In Oklahoma no jewelry, wristbands anything like that . Also all uniforms must match, no logos over 2 1/2 inches in diameter among other things. They are very picky here. Several players were dq for uniform violations.

Do you mean like a livestrong type wristband or a forearm protector?

The rules say you can use tape, but you should be able to wear a wristband as well.

I bet if you completely taped over it, so that all they could see was tape and not wristband, I bet that would slide. You should always ask the officials though.

Forearm protectors are specifically allowed for, bust out a rule book on 'em. Or just get used to not using one if you don't want to confront them.

USATF rules don't apply to high school meets.

Out here, forearm protectors are considered "equipment" just like watches.
