it looks like on your 16' jumps your trying too hard to clear the bar...you need to stay back on your pole longer and "steer" your feet over like you do at 15'6..you have it easy though congrats!

Looks like doing some bubka's on rings or a high bar would help you a lot. Congrats on the silver though!

You go up a pole and you have 16' and more! Thats the meet-situation fix. As for the technical aspects in the vault you cant fix the day of the meet:

Your take off position is great, but its under. I can pause the video and see bend in the pole before you leave the ground. That leads you to swing right after you leave the ground, and you dont have time to finish your take off and get your trail leg behind you. That will fix almost every other quirk in your jump. Congrats!
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph

early-no segment-finish out in front

Unread postby charlie » Sat May 10, 2008 10:24 am

Talked to you about a year ago at Coach Welborns. You can vault 17. on the pole your on ,but you must invert sooner so you complete the vault out in FRONT to catch the tremendous lift. You also must NOT segment the jump. You MUST pass through the L position and pull your hips UP and THROUGH the turn. The gutsy part is to do it early enough!! See you at golden south Good luck Coach Polhamus
