Haha. Ok the plans are pretty simple. you need the following:
(2) - 8' 4X4s
(2) - 10' 4X4s
(4) - 8' 2X4s
(4) - 10' 2X4s
(1) - 4' 1" iron gas pipe
(2) - 1" brackets for pipe to mount to surface (best explanation I got)
(4) - galvanized steel "T" brackets for 4X4s
and a whole lotta nails and screws

use the 2 10' 4x4s as the base and have the two 8' 4x4s coming out of the middle of them with the "T" brackets. Use two of the 8' 2x4s as the supports you see from the 10' 4x4 to the 8' 4x4

I can't really explain it very well, Ill just show very detailed pictures.

Haven't finished nailing this in yet, I'm going to wait for the cement to dry.

Whenever I can borrow my friends drill I'll put some screws in this because nails aren't as good as screws

It really could be improved a whole lot, I just didn't want to dig 3' post holes.

I want to build one in the ground in my backyard. Problem is finding posts that are long enough. If I go three feet down i will need at least 12 foot posts. If I want to have the option of rings, they probably have to be 16 feet. Anyone have any ideas?

I have 14' 6x6's which will go 4' in the ground. That gives me a high bar around around 9' to 10' high. I set up my rings, trapeze, climbing rope, vault trainer, swing trainer, and invert device from the ceiling of my mini-gym which is around 16' 6" high.

Mjaubbs, are you recommending that such long posts need to go in 4', that 3' won't be enough?

I need to put them in 4' deep due to the frost line in Western NY, but I do think that 4' deep 6x6's in concrete will definitely help the stability, to go along with the same type of design with support beams.

Ok the only thing is it tears my hands up like crazy right below where the fingers start on my palms. I'm already getting huge blisters under my vaulting callouses. How can I fix this?

I have not done this, but I have seen it done. Put a piece of PVC pipe on the horizontal bar. When you grab the PVC on the bar, do it with your hands oriented the way they are when you grip a pole; one facing each way. Now the PVC rotates on the bar and your hands are never subjected to the twisting/wringing motion.

I had two high bars installed at our stadium for my senior project--the only thing is that they are a little wobbly--I definitely rec. digging deeper (probably a bit deeper than you think) to avoid the wobbly top. I did metal bars down the side though, not wood--you don't have a lot of choice when the district is funding it!
