Olympic Trials: Best Seating Section?

I'm looking into going to the Olympic Trials in Eugene Oregon this summer. Does anybody know which runway they are using? Which seating section will be best for viewing according the downloadable map linked from the bottom of this web page:

Does this change at all for the women's event?

Any other tips to consider?

I'd say Sections M thru P. At least that would put you near the pits.

If you can get tickets....

I guess what I'm asking is which pit is scheduled: The inner most, or outer? I'm sure running direction will be a "game time" decision depending on wind, but if they plan to use the inside pit, then you couldn't go wrong with section "N" no matter which direction they were running. If it is the outer pit, then "O" or "P" would be good.

Just wondering if anybody knows which pit is most commonly used for events like this and maybe which running direction one could expect in late June?

Running direction is most often North to South. I don't know about the new layout, but it used to be the runway closest to the track was the men's pit and the other the women's. I'm sure some Eugene vaulters can correct me if I'm wrong. (My avatar is video of just the way I described before the improvements.)

Tickets are another issue altogether. I'm guessing you will have to buy them from someone who already has them.

I guess I'm assuming that I'd be able to get some of the "single day" tickets that will become available on May 30th according to the ticket information.

Do you think the "limited number" of tickets that become available at that time means there's no realistic chance of getting the days and section I'm most interested in?

Back a while ago there was a similar offer on the internet. I was up and at my computer at the indicated start time. No, I was there ahead of time but nothing worked until the exact starting time. I tried for specific sections without luck. I thought about one option on the North end but within about 45 minutes of the start, the site "closed down" with a notice all tickets had been sold. I realize these were not single day tickets, but my suggestion to you would be to know what you are willing to accept, be ready when they open up the process and act quickly. Good luck. :yes:

Now that I think about it, I may be someone competing with you to get a ticket. :dazed:

They'll sell out in 5 seconds flat. I'm sure they'll be scalpers selling day of at the place.

Do you have a guess for how much they will be selling them outside the meet for?? Are there any other sources of tickets?? Do you know if the elite athletes that are competing get a certain amount of tickets?
