Nike Outdoor and USATF Nationals

Unread postby vault3rb0y » Fri Mar 28, 2008 2:46 pm

The nike outdoor national championship in Greensboro is on the same weekend as the USATF junior nationals in Ohio this year. This sucks... not only do you have to choose, but chances are that you wont be able to compete against all the best because some will go to another place, and the very best will probably want to try to qualify for worlds. I'm wondering how everyone feels about this, and where you will all be going?

I believe we are still going to Nike Outdoor Nationals like always, so that we can bring everyone in our club who qualifies.

This is really stupid....

i am almost posistive that i will be at nike outdoor nationals, but yes this does suck very much. Maybe we could email the people at juniors and have them bring the meet up or something?

I hope that some people do come to outdoor nationals and i also hope that the winds stay like they are at my state track meet and not like they have been at outdoors.

Yea... i think they already said that they apologize but that its too late to change the dates. I think Nike would be the one to switch dates if any though, because USATF nationals is for the elites too.

I will be at nike. Jumping outdoors in oklahoma so far has been tough. High winds or cold weather. I am ready for a nice calm day to jump high, Jack Whitt, hello Scott and Jason!!!!!!!!!

The elites won't be in Ohio... they will be in Eugene for the trials the next week...

I know Rachel's coach told me she is going to JR Nationals. The very top athletes will be there, why on earth would you miss your chance to go qualify for World Juniors or whatever to compete at Nike?

To give other athletes in my club a chance to jump at nationals...

and because it will cost a lot less. Still does suck though. I wont get another shot at junior worlds ever, even if it is a long shot :(.
