correct, I spent that time training and getting in shape

OK. I said "great". He was definitely a top-tier vaulter back in the day though. I do think most people who saw him jump then would agree that he had more untapped potential than most of his peers. Back then if he was a 5.50 vaulter and knowing his raw talent you would not be shocked to see him throw up a 5.80 on accident. He definitely did not jump his potential in college.

What about doug sharp. He's probably still in good shape from bob sleding. A 1993 graduate of Purdue University and a doctor of chiropractic, Sharp is a former Big Ten Champion and NCAA qualifier in the pole vault. Holding a personal-best height of 18-5, Sharp was ranked 35th in the World in 1996 and came just short of qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Trials when a broken foot curtailed his training in that same year. I know he has been coaching the vault for a few years. He talked me into going to palmer college of chiropractic back in 96 at a track meet at north central. My wife knows his sister pretty well. I 'll have her check it out when she gets back from vacation in a week.

I was trying to do a little more digging came accross this 02 article where he said he will sled for another year or so, and then wants to try to make a bid for the olympics in the pole vault.

Oh no, didn't take it that way. I could see how someone could misconstrue "great" as meaning one of the top 10 collegiate performers of all time. I was just clarifying what I meant.
