I think it has been posted before, but does anyone know about the thin black poles they are using.

We have one of those at my college and were wondering what the history of them are. They are very thin and made of some type of metal. The actual inside of the pole seems to be some sort of foam....any ideas?

We have those, they are training poles, not meant for jumping but to simulate the plant and drive... good for practice :D

The Texas Pole Vault Manifesto lives. A little bit of my soul just died.

If you've ever jumped on those you know why it takes two guys to carry the bag. Bubba

Back in the day, when I just started coaching, I ordered some of those for the school I worked for. They were only $69.00 each and we needed something to get our kids started. My A.D. thought I was nuts for wanting poles since we didn't even have a track.

One of my boys PR'd at 13'4" on one before we finally got some real poles.
