By left footed I meant she takes off with the wrong foot for a right handed vaulter. (Right Foot). Sorry for the confusion. She's very agressive at the plant but can't turn because she leaves the ground wrong. I tried to make her a Lefty but it's like we are starting all over from scratch. Would it be better to try to make her jump from the other foot(Left)? If so, how?

My opinion is that if kids have a strong dominant foot, and they really struggle to take off on the left foot if you teach them right handed, it's better for them to learn left handed.
Others disagree *shrug*

my friend is right handed and can jump up and grab the rim off his right foot and can barely jump off his left so when he started pole vaulting he always jumped off the right foot... but coach just kept having him try the left foot when pole vaulting and it eventualy stuck.
i guess it is just would you have a stronger take off jump or a stronger plant and pull through....

i am right handed and i jump with my right foot... in the high jump, long jump, and i use it in the hurdles... but i found it difficult to learn to take of the opposite foot... it took me about two weeks to get my three step taking off on the left foot. But now that i throw jav with my left foot blocking i feel that i am strong in each leg for jumping... this is helpful in keeping both legs equally strong...so i find it better to jump with my right foot... oh but i am left hand dominant unless you count writing!!
