I know we will be at Nike. I went to NSIC as a sophmore and was very unimpressed.

The cutoff is 13' or 13'6, which is fine but opens the doors for too many vaulters being there. Its pretty much in the ghetto, good luck warming up outside. I had no buisness being there, compared to the competition at nike. 14'6 came in 6th place when i went, too. Even while i was there, everyone talked about how much tougher the competition was at Nike. Theres no way i would go to a different meet just to compete against, or see, one guy. If all the guys who went last year come again, plus a few that have really stepped up or didnt show last year, we should have 6 guys over 16'+ on the podium. If Nico wants to come thats his business, you cant beat that competition.

In NCIS's defense, it is a pretty fast runway.

I have no alliance with NSIC so I really don't care but you shouldn't say things that aren't really true. I don't want people to not go to NSIC because you think a working class neighborhood in NYC is the ghetto. It may not be the nicest neighborhood but that doesn't make it the ghetto. I think it is good for rural and suburban kids to visit place like Washington Heights. Our girls didn't seem to mind going outside the Armory and of all the many times I have been there I have never seen any attacks or heard of any for that matter. And there is a mondo warm-up track under the main track so why go outside to warm-up? The cutt-off is 13'6" which is low but that is why they have prelims and finals. If you are good enough you make the finals atuomatic so the field is 14 or so. The meet is very well run and they can handle more athletes. Plus it is great for watching you can see everything from your seat.

That said I have never been to nike so I cannot compare them. I will admit nike is more quality for the men's vault. I am not sure about the women's vault nsic seems to be pretty strong.

With all that said I actually don't care. I just had to justify why we go I guess. I love going to NYC. :D

You are right i made it seem terrible. Up to that point it was the best meet i had ever been to. I do believe nike has more competition and i felt it was better run. I also did not enjoy the hectic nature of getting into NYC. I lived in NY for 16 years but still dont enjoy jumping in the city just due to legistics. If people want to visit it and experience it, great, have a wonderful time, but i enjoy maryland just because of its convenience. I do have a biase because i hope people go to maryland, because i want all the best to be there. Its too bad they cant combine the meets, i heard they used to be as one but split for some reason.
