JC Records

JC Records are those ratified by the T&FN Records Committee We consider the collegiate season to end with the JUCO Championships. If a foreign athlete has the best mark, we sub-list the best ever by an American.

Pole Vault....5.49.....18-0.......Dason Phelps (Paradise Valley)......Glendale, Arizona..........3/18/00

Well that sucks for us, ever since they moved our juco nationals to south plains ours is 3 weeks earlier than everyone elses (short season!) I know Jeff Wyzinski took 3 attempts at juco nationals, he jumped 17-6.5 this year.

16ft CarbonFX 185, 17.9 flex. Gripping 15' 7", 14'11" in the box. He said it wasn't his biggest push but it got the job done. He was running from 7 lefts on the jump. He's been jumping from 8 lefts and on a 16.4 or 16.0 flex lately.

Hey, why not just ask Nick Hysong what he used on his helet cam? The video is from a few years back, but it was all over the web. It maybe on his website actually. I can't remember if he could see all the way into the box though. And if you aren't careful you can get sick watching it!
