Swinging faster

Unread postby sduvinage » Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:19 pm

I know that to get inverted faster, you must swing faster.
Is there any excersizes out there that improve swing SPEED.
What is the correct technical way to swinging in order to improve speed.
I know that bubkas on a highbar are pretty useful....just wondering if there are other things out there.
Thanks

I am curious as to why holding lower would help me swing faster?

Because the pole will be moving faster and because when you overgrip it's hard to time the swing up properly.

Try it and see...

9 times out of 10 (in what I have seen anyways) it an over gripping issue, and it will probably be only be a couple inches (if it were more than that you would know it). It has to do with lowering the torque on your body to hold your final take off position without caving in. Any time I get the feeling that I am just 'not getting around fast enough,' even if I am gripping at what I normally grip at, take it down 2" and it is considerably easier to swing up.

Swinging bubkas are not the best drill for swing speed... They're really not all that good of a drill for anything I feel...

TAP SWINGS. Big ones. And search for "whip hinge swing". KB's drill is good too. I'm putting up some video of it tonight.
