go to 4:07... is someone dropping their knee during straight pole drills?
I know he did not do it in the real vault that day, but is there any reason he would do it during the drill?
Also, does anyone have any other videos of Bubka doing drills or practice?

Re: Bubka warm up
He doesn't actually drop it. Rather, he lets his trail leg catch up to it. I don't think you should stress too much over this particular drill not simulating his real vaults EXACTLY. After all, it's just a warmup drill ... he's just stretching out his muscles. His focus is probably just on the swing to inversion.

Also straight pole he exagerates a free takeoff, which will cause a slight drop in the lead knee. He is still driving his hips forward.
