hey guys, i am getting a new pole this year but i wanted some suggestions on the type. right now we have a catapole 11' 6" 110 lbs, but im now 115. we're thinknig about getting a 120 maybe 12'ft. I jump ound 8.5-9ft as of now. I wanted sometips on the best type of pole. to mee it seems that the pacer FX look pretty good, but i've also heard that the bright green/ hot pink poles are good. Everyone seems to hae those, and I've never heard of a catapole before. I think they're probably cheaper so that's why our school buys them. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you ---eva

Hey, my favorite brand of poles to jump on is the Carbon Pacer. I have a flatter take off than most and the sail piece is in a better position for me, in terms of take offs. USC sprits are also nice, however they have a little bit higher bend in them, the tend to have a big hoop bend and that really kicks you high, if you know how to use it. But because of higher bend/sail piece if you don’t jump very well off the ground they can be a bit of a problem. Essx pole are also very nice, general word around the campfire is that people like these poles. They are great all around poles, and a bit lighter to carry than your standard fiber glass pole, I have PRed on each brand of pole, my personal opinion is that these poles are generally the best. However it depends on personal taste.
Gill Athletics (the pacer/carbon/FX brands) makes great poles, USC have had many world records captured, from jumps on their poles… And I have personally seen big bars from Essx poles Granted it has to do with the athlete but these are good poles.
Hope any of this helps….

hey, the carbon pacer does look nice but i think its too expensive for our school, i was thinking either about the pacer fx or the usc spirit. they both seem pretty good, im just not sure about whether they are best for me, because i apply pressure with my bottom arm, and my penetration is round 22-27 (standards). So i want one that will work best with me. IDK about essex, never heard of them before.
