Ok, Im on poles 40# over my friggin weight, but I keep getting rejected when I try a 6" longer pole 35# over my weight, and I broke one 30# over my weight (although it had a crack in the top) Im getting one to replace that. How come it is so difficult for me to get on longer poles, it really is hindering me from jumping a lot better heights than 4.80m.

hmmmm
An inch at a time!
Going to longer poles is no big deal if you just work your grip up a little at a time. Inch by inch and keep your efficiency high.
When you do go up, 6" longer is easier to deal with than a full foot. That is where PacerFX poles are great. The sailpieces are incremental making the transition from one length to the next very smooth. Besides 6" of grip equals 1' of bar height. Not a bad trade.

I'm hoping I saw the right video, but anyway here's my $0.02. In the video I saw, your pole never got to verticle. That might account for one if not all problems you are encountering. Moving to a longer pole is not just adding set amount of pole, you change timing, pole speed, and the bend. You might have to work on a longer swing, or a slightly better angle of attack in your takeoff (jump up a little more), mabye use your arms a little more to get the pole to verticle. Also, switching to a longer pole you need to go down 10-20 lbs, not 5-10.
You said you were getting another pole for the one that broke, and indicated that that one worked pretty well. Mabye you just need that particular size pole again to work on. Just remember longer poles require more patience, especially untill you learn to carry more of your runway speed into your takeoff. Remember, I think I saw the right video. GL

are you using the same grip height on the stick that's 6" longer? just because you are opn a longer pole doesn't mean you need to raise your grip. Are the two poles made by the same manufacturer? Are they relatively the same age?

I have a 14'6" ESSX 170 (18.0), and a 15'1" ESSX 165 (19.6).They are both made within the same month. I am holding a few inches higher on the 15'1". It is really heavy and the Carbon (lighter) that I had was a 15' 160 (19.9) but it had some damage to the top of it, thats probably why it broke. Im replacing that one but it won't be as stiff a (20.3). I am also thining about buying a 15' 170 (18.9). I also have a 15'6" 155. not sure about the flex, I want to be using 15'6" poles by next year.
