spirit poles oblong shape

Hi,

I have a 14'7" 165 that has a slightly oblong shape. You have to look carefully, but you can see that it is not perfectly round but has a definite flattened quality that runs the length of the pole. My question is, is this normal or was there a defect in the manufacturing process? Anyone else ever see this in longer poles?
