Pole Vault Temporary Upgrade BYOB

BYOB "Bring Your Own Bun"

If you have one good pit and add a single base unit to the outside. Slide the other base units over half their width. Attach the current top pad back on the pit centered.
This will cover all cracks temporarily.
Make sure you have a meeting with the schools that attend and make sure ahead of time that this is an accepted method. As some will read into the rule that the top pad must totally covered the whole pit. When in reality the intent was to cover all the cracks!

If you have a need to be totally conforming to the rule by covering the whole pit with a top pad, you can use another full top pad running the other way. Place the additional top pad running the other way side to side under the current top pad. Any portion of the extra top pad that is extra may be tucked under the pit. Hooking as many clips as you can will provide you a safe landing area.

For the systems, that are not 16'5" in the back we suggest that you add the High Jump to the back. Place Three base units lined up will provide 24' of length by an extra 5 ' of width.
You may cover these with you top pad from another PV pit. The object is to cover all the cracks. That is the intent of the NFHS rule.

Well if you are using the base unit and top pad from another school they might wish to take it back with them when the meet is over! It would work as a permanent fix now that they have seen picture of one.
