What weight rating of a 15 foot pole is equivalent to that of a 14 foot 165 if i grip at 13'6" on both? (I might have to grip down on a 15 since my school doesn't have 14's over 160). I use Spirits if it matters.

6 inches = 10 pounds.
in both directions.
There is a discussion about that in another tread somewhere.

imho, the next pole in a 15' length after a 14' 160 would be a 15' 145. my reasoning: if you were to go up to a 14'6" pole you would probably want a 14'6" 155 for the next pole in your progression. you could also move up to a 14'6" 155 from a 14'6" 150, so the 14' 160 is approximately equal to a 14'6" 150. the next pole in a decent progression from a 14'6" 150 if you want to go to a 15'er would be a 15' 145. so moving to a 15' 145 from a 14' 160 would be about the same as moving to a 14' 165. hopefully you dont weigh over 145 if you are in high school and hopefully you have a small enough 15'er to make the transition. it can be very challenging to move up in pole length
