I started vaulting spring of 99 (my junior year). Vaulted all spring, summer, and only had about 2 months off before I found Steve Marshalek's original indoor facility. So I vaulted fall, winter, spring, summer of my senior year (99-00). Then I got to college and did not get to vault.
Started vaulting again that summer and forgot how to do it. I had to start over and got back up to 10-3. Vaulted that next fall/winter/spring at a high school in Florida, that summer back home.
Vaulted this year at UGA, but didn't vault much in the fall because of an injury... umm yeah. I am getting better, just haven't done what I need to in a meet I guess.
So I don't know how many vaulting years that is.
As for poles, I own one Pacer. It is an 11'6" 120, and I crush it from 3 lefts
The rest are 12' and 13' Spirits.
My coach up here in Bellingham has a series of older 12'6" Pacers. I tried them one day in practice, but they felt too different... They were a lot skinnier than my Spirits, and felt heavier. I know the newer Mystics and whatnot feel better.
At school we have all Spirits except for our 13'6" carbon Ms Stics. It would be fun to try a whole series of 13' carbons, or better yet, 12'6" carbons
But I think my poles are fine. When you have a whole series of poles, and only need one or two to fill a gap, it is easier to do that than get a whole new series.
Oh my gosh I will shut up... I am boring myself
