shipping poles

Unread postby ennairb » Tue Apr 13, 2004 7:01 pm

Hey!

I'm looking to ship a pole from florida to texas. does anybody know of any companies that are particularly good about delivering 13 ft tubes? lol. I know that there's a lot of people who work for pole companies in this forum, so what companies do you guys use?

Thanks!

Bri

airborne express came and picked up my pole and shipped it and everything, and the pole was in a 16ft tube so it'll work for a 13 footer. just make sure you let them know when they pick it up that they're picking up an oversized package.

Try Lile Logistics at 1800 755-7698. They're a broker for shipping companies so they search all the different shippers and find you the best deal.

Also, see if there's a Unishippers in your area. They do the same thing, and I found a better price through them this week when I was having poles shipped. I'm in the Austin, TX area and our local Unishippers phone number is (512) 451-9950. Ask for Tara. She's very helpful.

Emery Air Freight (also know as Menlo Worldwide) 800 443 6379
Bax Global
Airborne Express (downsized their aircraft a couple of yrs ago so coverage is limited)
Trucking Co's are prob the cheapest but take the longest.

I always use Emery/Menlo Worldwide. I'm on a first-name basis with the lady at the airport depot :) .
