Hi,

Im a freshman this year and picked up pole vaulting this year ending the season with a PR of 9' Im using a 12' 150 lady rocket, gripping 10-7 to 10-11, running a five step. I weigh 146 and am 5"10. I should be growing out to 6"2 by the time im a senior if that really matters. But I wanted to know if a smaller pole would helpful being that its hard to bend gripping pretty low. I was thinking an 11'6 would an advantage for my next year. I plan not to gain much weight by cutting down on some bad food and cardio along with lifting. But I wanted to hear what you guys think would be the best thing to do.

Much Appreciated,
Aaron

No way, you're going to get a lot bigger/faster/stronger over the next few years. I would not buy anything shorter than a 13' pole. You'll gain weight just by growing, you'll probably be well over 150 pounds next season.

Go to some pole vault camps and learn how to pole vault. It will help a lot. Don't worry so much about bending the pole right now.

Hello, I need help getting a new pole.
I'm 6' and 147lbs my current best is 3.20m and want to clear 4m.
I'm on a 13' 140lbs pole and it feels to soft and small, I'm looking at getting either a 14' 150lbs or 14' 160lbs? What will be better? Thanks
