alright my little girl jumpers are jumping on poles #8 and #9 the #8 pole is a 13'1 126.4(about) and flex 24.4 (about) and the #9 pole is a 114.6(about) and flex 26.3(about) they are both 13'1" poles and the same brand. one of my girls jups about 11 on the #8 then switches to the #9 and jumps 11'6" so the #9 is stifer but all the numbers seam very wrong to me.. please help. i think i might be crazy or somthing

The flex system a way to determine relative stiffness
a 50 lbs weight is used in the center of a set span to determine the deflection of the weight in relation to the stiffness of the pole.

A larger number means it bends down more with weight on the pole and a stiffer pole will support the weight and read a smaller number.
DECAMOUSE is correct see next post
Reread what you were asking MY BAD
Decamouse is correct the softer pole may well fit her better. Getting on the stiffist pole is not always the almighty answer. The plant must be smooth and a transfer of energy from the run X weight = mometum. If the pole is the proper size the transfer is smooth and unhindered.

Stiffer or jumps better

Is #9 really stiffer or does it just fit her abilities better and that is why she jumped higher - I would tend to look at that possibility first rather than #8 being marked about ten lbs heavier than #9 but is really softer!!!

Some of the poles at HIP were purchased back when we built poles in Mexico. Some were in metric and others in imperial. I suggest you check with the owners to see what significants the #8 and the #9 has and possibly they were moved that way due to the re measure of the Earl Bell flex number. I was told that one pole was marked #114 and was mistaken for 114lbs. but is really 125 test.
We have asked them for the serial number to verify its accuracy.
