This weekend i saw a girl vaulter show up to the camp i was at with her poles attached to her car using these things...

they were two devices that looked like they attached to the car using a hook that either went over the side windows or the side doors of the car and also used a suction cup at the bottom of them, and you could strap your poles onto them...

i NEED these... does anyone know what i'm talking about here, or where i can get them from?

What kind of car do you have?

If you can fold down the back seat and have a sedan, you can always put the poles through the trunk and bring 'em up to the dash. Tie down the trunk and you're good to go. Or you can always wrap a towel around each end of the poles or bag and shut the towels in the hood and trunk. That works pretty well too.

Or... if you're daring. You can always just put the poles through the back seat or front windows... just don't clothesline anybody ;)

Get a roof rack. It works a lot better is is way more secure. Image

Make sure you find a way to secure the poles for the night if you have them on your car. Either a lock on them or bring them in the hotel, whatever. There is a chance a pole was stolen from our bag at NON, and at the very least someone was messing around and reduced the tension on the straps. Just proves some people will mess around no matter where you go, so be careful!!

Ok so i drive a hatch back two door camaro... is their a device i could use to hook the poles to the top of my car?

Right now i have just been sliding them from back of car onto the dash, but its harder with more and more poles, and scratches my dash and my trunk door is kinda lop sided now.

On short relations I was carrying poles using the following "methods":
walk: alone or with friend

bicycle: holding poles on the shoulder with one hand

bike: sitting on them, or holding on shoulder while friend is driving

car:
- holding poles with one hand through open window (alone or as passenger). You should be young and stupid to do this alone :)
- on the roof, fixed with rope or bungee cords

cab: usually requires some negotiation. When you explain to driver who you are and what is that for, they are willing to help - it is nice story to share with other cab drivers. Few bucks can also make miracle

public transportation: only if you have no other options. It is little bit tricky to pull poles in and out and requires ignoring driver and passengers complains. :)
