Pole Damage?

Does anyone know what Direct Sunlight Exposure for an extended period of time can do to a pole? Would the damage be different for a Carbon Pole?

If it is for a short period of time (Less than 12 hours) the pole will get a larger set or prebend in it than it had. It is recommended that you make sure that the pole is setting with the prebend down so there will not take a false set in the pole.

Weather, UL, and Heat will damage the pole over long periods of time if left in direct exposure to these elements.

I have seen some really nice brown Skypoles right out of the box that were fine after storage for 20 years.

These particular Carbons were in Palm Springs desert heat for a year. No tube. What do you think?

wow I would ask Pacer as that might be worth having them tested>

Bruce is right - if they sat in the drect sunlight - day in day out depending which way they laid - they could take a little set - if you rub your hands real hard over the exposed glass - if you get residue - then there may be some UV degradation - if the tape on the body of the pole is in real good shape - chances are you don't have a problem
