OK I am too lazy to dig up the thread where we discussed the peg length for the Junior Olympic meets...

I asked Bill Roe about this last week, and we talked about it again tonight. He was pretty sure that USATF did not pass the shorter peg length for the youth meets. Which makes sense... most Association meets are at high schools... how many of them have shorter pegs?

Either way, no kid would be denied a chance to compete at Regionals or Nationals if they jumped on the wrong length of peg, because they qualify by how they place.

Rule 218 is the General Rule and includes the 55mm peg - Rule 242 contains special or extra provisons for Youth and includes weight ratings of poles and standard placments - it does not exclude Rule 218 dealing with peg length - thus according to the way the rules are written - they would apply the 55mm peg length
