no offence ment by this if any could be derived.

i can agree, but it isn't too hard to go out to the store, buy some velcrow and stich it on. I know that we shouldn't have too, because we are paying 110 plus shipping, but when i got them i loved them and maybe its just a mind thing but i feel they helped me with the start off my run in becoming more consistant.

It did take like 2 hours to sow the new velcrow in, but besides the velcrow, i havn't found anytihng else wrong with them, and still love them. These are the best pole vault shoes that i have found for my personal preference and i also have a pair of the nike tj/pv as well.

I am up for a 10.5 too. haha love you becca!

OK, I have been meaning to do this for a few months...

I have a pair of the old and new PV Lites with me right now. The old PV Lites I only wore a few times, but I got them used so they show plenty of wear and tear. The new ones I got last summer but I don't jump all that often, so I have probably used them less than 20 times.

They are both a half size bigger than what I normally order Nike spikes in, but they fit OK. A little roomier than I prefer, but it never bothers me when I am jumping. They felt more comfortable than the triple jump spikes which were also a half size too big.

Spike plate - They both appear to have about the same design. The new ones are supposed to be more durable, but I am not sure how the new design prevents the cracked spike plate. I will put a question into Nike and see if I can find out.

Heel - That plastic thing at the back of the heel is the same.

Nike swooshes - Probably the best design change on the new spikes is they got rid of the embroidered Nike swooshes that came unraveled. The new swooshes are a variety of materials depending on placement.

Velcro strap - The new strap seems to be a slightly more durable material. It is not quite as stretchy as the old one. If you look at the soft side of the velcro that is on the new strap, the bottom part of it has an extra layer of stitching. The rough part of the velcro is slightly different on the new spikes. I am not a velcrologist, so I couldn't explain the details. I don't know if it is better or worse, but they seem to work fine for me. So far my velcro has never come undone. There are also two layers of stitching on the rough velcro compared to one on the old spikes.

Interior - The main difference I notice is a slight bit of padding on the sides of the heel.

Overall appearance - See the pictures. Obviously new colors and little different design. One thing I notice is that I long jumped in the old spikes and now the white fabric is stained kinda orange. I long jumped in the new spikes and had no problem (I know they are not designed for long jumping, but hey, sometimes I like to branch out).

Conclusion - I don't see a ton of structural changes, but there are a lot of exterior design changes that should make the spike hold up better.

I'll post more pictures shortly.

From Nike:

The plate is the same design as on the PV Lite but the plate material
has changed. The PV Lite used Zytel which seemed to be affected in
production by humidity. We were able to find a new material called
Vestamid which is more forgiving. Jacob Pauli was one of our testers and
he swore that he got extra speed and height with the newer plate
material. We have seen no cracking of the spike plate in any testing or
competition so I think it will be much more durable.

Yeah, Nike has a lot of restrictions on the promotions you can do for a spike before it comes out, so we're looking into the best way to deal with that.

Poor marketing decision to time the release of something until right after Christmas

they should just hire you becca for the pole vault representative for nike! that would be sweet, except more for you to handle. but the thought was nice.

AHHHHHHHH!! I Just got the new mfathletic catalog and they have the shoes in there for sale, but if you go online, they only have the new nike triple jumps and not the nike zoom pv IIs. What is this! They got me excited and then don't have them online, and when i called there was nothing of importance that i could do or leave from their directory! I suppose i could leave a message or call again on monday.

What I heard is Nike doesn't want anyone to put them on their websites until January 1st.

Do call them Monday, I am very curious if they will take preorders over the phone. (But don't place a preorder yet! haha)
