carbon results in a thinner wall than other types of glass

and if you allow the pole to strike the ground or the standards the pole can obtain a nick that will weaken the structure and/ or result in a broken pole on subsequent jumps. As other type of glass you need to take care of the pole.

It also could be the way you take-off if you are too flat and crush the pole, this could result in an overload in certain areas of the pole.

I've never tryed that type of pole, We use Lady Rockets
And they seem to work really nice, and there really light
weight

Yeah. We have a series of 15-7 spirits from 175 to 190. They give you alittle leeway while learning how to swing longer and make for a nice bridge to the 16-1 poles. They significantly reduce the learning curve when you are moving up from 15-1 poles. Timing is essentially what you would expect: pretty centered in between 15-1 poles and 16-1 poles.

Ive been using UCS Spirit poles for 3 years, and i havent used any other. I even bought my own 14' pole to use in college. In my opinion the bend takes long enough for you to ride out.......UCS Spirit all the way

Yes a carbon pole can generate a lot of energy if one is using the carbon to make the pole return fast.


I didn't know poles generated energy? ;) Is that the new essx advantage? Do they have a mechanism to increase energy input? Sounds like your in the wrong business if thats the case. ;)

GOOD POINT poor choice of words on my part.
Carbon pole require more storage of energy to bend as they are stiffer and hold more load than E or S glass.

GOOD call on your part my bad!

If I had it my way, I would be jumping on all fibersport!!! Booyah!!! :P I think that UCS spirits are good poles, but I prefer an essx or a pacer III...
